SCTV (abbreviation of Surya Citra Televisi) is a national private television station in Indonesia. SCTV is the second private television stations (based on time on the air) in Indonesia after RCTI,. SCTV was born on August 24, 1990 as a local television station in Surabaya based on Jl. Darmo Permai, Surabaya, East Java. Although the date was set as the date of birth SCTV, but a new date of January 1, 1993, SCTV obtain a license as a national television station in Jakarta. SCTV operational office was gradually transferred from Surabaya to Jakarta, but the studio SCTV remain in Surabaya. Initially, the majority of shares are owned by Bimantara Citra SCTV, through its subsidiary, Sindo Citra Media (now the Surya Citra Media).Although repeatedly moved offices, SCTV always airs every day. In 1993 for example, SCTV moved offices to Wisma AKR, West Jakarta which is located adjacent to the station RCTI. Then in 1996, SCTV office moved again to the guesthouse Indovision. The age of the 11, in 2001, SCTV then concentrate its operations on SCTV Graha Building, Jalan Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta. And in 2007, the operations of SCTV centered in Senayan City. However, the transmitting station and the studio remains centered in Kebon Jeruk.Since 1999, the majority of SCTV shares acquired by PT Surya Citra Media Tbk. In early May 2013, officially joined SCTV and Indosiar TV ONLINE.
